What is the difference between instant coffee and regular coffee?

Answered By Editor

Instant coffee is made by dehydrating coffee brewed from coffee beans. The advantages of instant coffee are speed of preparation, length of shelf life and less loss of flavor from loss of the essential oils of coffee beans. However, instant coffee does not offer the exotic bean varieties found in regular coffee. True coffee lovers who appreciate the subtle flavor differences in beans grown in various parts of the world will never be converted to instant coffee. The difference is whether you use coffee just to wake up, or are a true coffee connoisseur.
