What are the benefits of grinding your own coffee?

Answered By Editor

Grinding your own coffee has several benefits. First off, your coffee can be freshly ground right before you brew it, resulting in less loss of flavorful oils in the beans. Additionally, when you grind your own, you usually have a choice of better beans than are available pre-ground. Lastly, when grinding your own, you can choose a coarseness that suits your brewing method best, such as coarse for percolated or french pressed, or very fine for expresso.
