Don't you think its a current scenario where many of us hardly recognize our fellows workers face and name. Isn't it a reality that we are least bothered about our fellow workers today in our so called Professional workplace. I wonder what is the fuss about Professionalism. Doesn't it mean that you should disconnect all your personal relation with your fellow workers? or Does it mean that you should have a stone instead of a heart? or Does it mean that you should only focus on your work and rest of your fellow workers are just a tool to get your job done. I seriously beg to differ. As per my understanding, Professionalism is a way of working towards any objective of the organization with honesty, integrity and transparency to ensure top notch quality in delivery. Where is it said that you have to disconnect your personal relation with your fellow workers. And let me explain, every single living thing in this world has emotions, the emotions required to be understand each other, respect each other, communicate to each other and infact be responsible to each other and work place is a place where we spend more than half of our life time striving to excel in our personal and professional life. So how glad would it be to share some valuable time with people who work at the same place, to share our dreams and aspiration with the people who are gonna spend half of their life with us, to lend a support to our team members. Listen to me and next time when you want to talk to some one, pick up the phone and talk to them. Please dont send them an email. Walk up to your team members and say Hi ask them whats happening in their life? Lets make workplace a better place to work, live and eat. Lets forget all our personal problems and live our life, enjoy our work and excel in our career. Doesn't it make sense to look little further to our cubicles and coffee machines to see if our team member is happy because in anyways, his happy state of mind would have positive effect on his work. So if you desire quality work from your team member or just want to be a good friend. Speak to him, give him a reason to smile, a face to remember, make a change in the corporate world and through the serious looking faces. You can not do any serious business with serious face. It adds stress to your work and has negative impact to your work. So sit back and enjoy your work, share some funny moments at work place, grow in your career and help your team members to grow in their career soon you would find that and thats the real achievement.
